My wife just left with our cat who had a pretty large lump on her neck. They sedated our cat cut it open to drain the fluids out of her lump. They gave an antibiotic and sent her home. Before leaving my wife stated that the cat didnt seem right and that she was gasping for air. The staff said it's normal and she will be fine. My wife drove 10 min home and our cat had died. So I guess this is the kind of service you get for $150. When I called for an explanation all I got was a huge list of excuses. I will never go back here or reccomend this place to anyone.
My dog has boarded at the "Pet Paradise" facility twice now. We've been able to check in on him via the web cam... he's been happy, well-fed... no complaints.

No compassion for animals whatsoever! The veterinarian there drives a Tesla, while another veterinarian I know drives a regular car so he can help animals in need. Isn't that what you are supposed to do, help animals in need and not drive 100,000 dollar cars! And not over charging people to help pay for that car either! I called one day about a kitten I found who was badly injured and they told me it was a 100$ just to be seen, and then they told me they would put her to sleep anyway because of the injury, even though they didn't even look at her. To make a long story short, I found a awesome veterinarian (the real Doctor Doolittle) and his lovely wife who went above and beyond to help this kitten. And she is thriving now, thanks to them. Chowan animal hospital won't even help the local animal shelter if an animal gets sick. They charge full price. What kind of veterinarian does that? A greedy heartless one, that's who! Take your beloved furry family member somewhere else. Take them to a veterinarian who became a veterinarian because they love and care about animals, not money!
They take such good care of all 3 of my dogs. The best in the area in my opinion.
