Very interesting history surrounding Penelope Barker and her house. We loved the story about her Edenton tea party and the British response in a political cartoon. This should be a must-see on a trip to this lovely, vibrant town.
The lady that gave us the tour of the Barker home was personal and knowledgeable. She gave occurrences that actually happened in the house and the people who lived there & what time period when it happened. She also suggested the cupola house... But that is another review
Great for history buffs
Just across the street from the house, we signed up for a tour of the harbor on the Liber-Tea with Captain Mark. He was well-versed in the town's fascinating history, a gracious host, and an informative and delightful tour guide.

Superb visit to a wonderful little southern town! Edenton is very picturesque and friendly. I flew in with my small plane for a stop while going cross country and stayed longer than expected as I had no idea this place was so nice! What a gem!
